I was amazed. After hearing horror stories from some teams trying to get a copy of their Uzbekistan visas, and the hoops they needed to fly through to get Letter of Invitations, my Uzbek visa stamp is all now sorted. I just need to make sure I don’t lose my passport. Like I’d ever do that. Oh yes – I’ve done that 3 times – oops!
So following on the success of my Uzbek visa, I’ve now filled in all the paperwork, and greased the palms of the Tajikistan embassy in London to get my Tajikistan visa, and also my GBAO permit (this is the stamp in your passport that allows you to travel along the Pamir Highway).
A huge thanks to Team Gobiyond, who’ve been there, done it, got the t-shirt and also written the Blog to help out us poor Mongoleers who can’t be bothered to do the research! If you’re interested, here’s the link to their blog.
Update 2nd March
Team Gobiyond’s epic instructions worked a charm!
I’m now in possession of a multi-entry Tajikistan visa and hallowed GBAO permit stamp. Sadly this means that the easy visas are all now done, and I’ve only got the hard ones left to get!
